Omega Seamaster Quartz Professional

The Omega Seamaster Quartz Professional is the watch that Pierce Brosnan wore when he was in character as James Bond. The watch became very popular whilst he was filming the Bond films and even more popular when they were released. When Daniel Craig took over the role he started wearing a new Omega watch, the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean.

The Omega Seamaster Quartz Professional features the date on the clock face, a transparent case back and a chronometer. The lens is made of scratch resistant sapphire crystal and it has anti-reflective treatment on both sides. The casing of the watch is made of steel and the dial is teck-grey. The Omega Seamaster Quartz Professional is also water resistant to 300 meters (1000 feet).

The size of the screen is 41.5 mm diagonally. Another feature of the Seamaster Quartz Professional is the Helium Escape Valve fitted onto the side of the casing.

There is always some debate amongst watch enthusiasts as to the value of a quartz watch versus an equivalent cronometer. Personally I would always go with an automatic cronometer, as I value the engineering that goes into such pieces, and of course like the sweep on the second hand that you do not get on a quartz model. However, most of the people I know with Seamasters do in fact own Quartz models on the basis that they are far more accurate. Either way, no one is ever disapointed with their SeaMaster, they are a true classic.
